Programs
Everyone starts on the same line.
No matter your age, skill level or physical ability, there is a class here for you. We teach children, teenagers, adults, and students with special requirements.
Ages 5–6
Little Dragons
The first rung. Little Dragons is where five- and six-year-olds learn to stand on a line, listen the first time, and finish what they start — wrapped inside games, kicking and a whole lot of encouragement. Cycles run about four months and finish with a test in front of the class. Mr. Bugala will sometimes start a mature four- or four-and-a-half-year-old — ask him, and he will give you a straight answer about whether your child is ready.
Ages 7–12
Youth Tang Soo Do
Real Tang Soo Do, scaled to kids: hyung (forms), self-defense, and non-contact sparring. Ranks are earned, not handed out, and the belt on a child’s waist is a record of work they actually did. Parents mostly notice it at home first.
Ages 13 and up
Teen & Adult
Beginners start beside black belts, and nobody minds. Traditional forms, practical self-defense, joint locks and controlled sparring — a hard, honest hour that leaves the week outside the door. No prior experience needed, and no upper age limit.
Ages 6 and up
Bully Prevention
A targeted curriculum, not a slogan. Students learn to read a situation, use voice and posture before hands, de-escalate with humor, and defend themselves if it turns physical. Mr. Bugala has written at length on why “just ignore them” isn’t always enough.
Beyond class
Kid’s Night Out.
Parents get an evening. Kids get a Nerf war and dinner.
Every so often the mat gets cleared for an action-packed night with friends — games, dinner included, and enough running around to guarantee a quiet ride home. $30 per kid, and space is genuinely limited.
You bring your A game, we bring everything else. Call or text to save a spot.
Common questions
Before your first class.
Does age matter?
Little Dragons starts at five. Mr. Bugala will sometimes take a mature four- or four-and-a-half-year-old — ask him and he will tell you honestly whether your child is ready. At the other end there is no upper limit: we have a class that fits, regardless of age and ability.
Can I try a class first?
Absolutely. Fill out the form or give us a call and we will schedule your first class. There is no cost and no obligation.
What do I bring?
Yourself and a positive attitude. Practically: wear something comfortable and bring water. All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Do I need experience?
None at all. We have classes for people who have never taken a martial arts class, and for advanced martial artists. If you have trained before, tell the instructor so we can place you properly.
How big are the classes?
It varies by class and by day. Speak to an instructor and we will tell you which day would suit you best.
Is sparring safe?
Our sparring is non-contact, supervised, and scored on control. Students learn timing and distance without anyone getting hurt.
